BACK TO BALBOA + RENDEZVOUS WITH KENTON

This release presents the complete original 1958 Stan Kenton album Back to Balboa (Capitol T995), appearing here on CD in stereo for the first time ever. As a bonus, the complete 1957 Kenton LP Rendezvous with Kenton (Capitol T932), which has never been previously issued on CD. Both albums were recorded live at the Rendezvous Ballroom, in Balboa Beach, California. Founded in 1928, the Rendezvous had contributed to Kenton’s popularity since his first gig at the club in 1941. In 1966, the Rendezvous Ballroom burned to the ground and an apartment complex was later built at mthe location.
