This release contains two complete albums showcasing the incomparable talent of alto saxophonist Art Pepper in a quartet setting: "Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section (Contemporary S7532), featuring Miles Davis' legendary rhythm section of Red Garland, Paul Chambers & Philly Joe Jones, and "The Marty Paich Quartet featuring Art Pepper" (Tampa T1014). The first of these LPs was a jazz landmark with regard to the impeccable audiophile sound quality.
