A mainstream dream team playing and relentlessly swinging, Live in Bern is the first recording of Scott Hamilton and Jeff Hamilton on Capri. They both recorded for the same record label for many years but never recorded together. It's been a long wait, but it's been well worth it.

Despite the title, it does not sound like a live album. The sound quality is excellent. Recorded in Bern, in Marian’s Jazzroom, during a single session lasting less than eight hours, but while the venue is certainly a club, there's no sense of an audience being present.

From the beginning you can see what a very inspired idea was to pair Scott with Jeff Hamilton's ultra-tight trio. Scott’s playing on this CD has reached new heights, and it is showcased with a tremendous selection of tunes. All in all, records like this don't come along all too frequently, and we can't recommend it highly enough. This is one for the ages.
