This release presents Lou Donaldson’s complete original LP "Midnight Sun", which was recorded in a quintet format and presents Donaldson as the only horn in the company of pianist Horace Parlan, bassist Ben Tucker, drummer Al Harewood, and star conga player Ray Barretto. As a bonus, an alternative version of “Candy” recorded the following year.
