Little Walter

This special LP edition contains 16 remastered studio tracks, consisting of a variety of the sensational early sides Little Walter made as a leader for the Chess Records subsidiary label Checker. Originally released between 1952 and 1962, these numbers featured accompaniment by such masters as Muddy Waters, Robert Lockwood, Jr., Willie Dixon, and Otis Spann. These are the recordings that would forever change the sound and style of blues harmonica. Everyone who followed in Little Walter’s wake was highly indebted to him. Walter’s influence to this very day is so pervasive over the landscape of the instrument, and the blues genre as well, that this indispensable compilation of singles marks one of the greatest blues collections of all time.
