This release presents "Stormy Monday" (Capitol ST- 1714); the only collaborative album recorded by the legendary singer Lou Rawls with the superb trio of pianist Les McCann. Taped during two sessions in February 1962, it was Rawls’ first album issued under his own name, and features a number of blues and jazz standards chosen by the singer. Les McCann was also a gifted vocalist, as proven by the LP "Les McCann Sings" (Pacific Jazz ST-31), which has been added here as a bonus in its entirety, giving us the chance to compare both Rawls and McCann’s different approaches to vocals.
