Marty Grosz

Accompanied by his Hot Winds, the inimitable Marty Grosz introduces us to the song-writing genius of James P. Johnson, best known as the most accomplished practitioner of the jazz genre known as “Harlem Stride Piano.” This CD presents a selection of Johnson’s popular songs - a few familiar ones but mostly Marty brings back to life with fresh, original arrangements, others that have been lost from sight since written and featured in numerous Broadway reviews from the 1920´s on.
