"The Jazz Soul of Oscar Peterson" (Verve MGV S-68351) showcases the brilliant Oscar Peterson Trio with Ray Brown and Ed Thigpen playing a collection of well known standards, including two Dizzy Gillespie compositions: “Con Alma” and “Woody ‘n’ You”. The bonus album, "Very Tall" (Verve MGV6-8429), marked the first recorded collaboration between Peterson and the great Milt Jackson. Among the highlights are their versions of Nat Adderley’s “Work Song”, and Jackson’s own “Reunion Blues”.
