This edition presents the complete Dizzy Gillespie big band album The New Continent (Limelight LM82022), appearing here on CD for the first time ever. Consisting of a suite composed by the band's pianist Lalo Schifrin, this album features such stars as Frank Rosolino, Conte Candoli, Phil Woods, James Moody, Bill Perkins and Mel Lewis. As a bonus, all existing tunes from a Dizzy Gillespie Quintet performance recorded live at the Museum of Modern Art, in New York, which also features Schifrin.
