A really wild little record – and one that's as much a free jazz set as it is some kind of freewheeling freakout from the San Francisco scene of the 70s!

There's a very primal feel to the music here – lots of percussion and reeds – including work on flute, alto, and soprano from Frank Albright – and more flute, plus piano and percussion from Darrel De Vore – and additional flute from Marvin Kirkland – who also plays percussion with Terry Wilson.

Side two opens up the jam even more – with tenor from the great Jim Pepper, plus flute and bassoon from Ron Grunn, and soprano and electronics from John Celona – working with the core group from the first side to really push things over the edge! The seem to be no real rules to the record, and there's also organic moments that recall some of the cooler French experiments of the period.
