This is Nina Simone in her famous live performance at the Antibes Jazz Festival (France) in July 1977. Backed by her long time collaborator Al Shackman on guitar, vibes and percussion, the "High Priestess of Soul" builds a perfect set-list full of beautiful songs chosen from various repertoires, among them: Jacques Brel's 'Ne Me Quitte Pas,' Gershwin's 'I Love You Porgy' and Brecht/Weil's 'Alabama Songs,' last but not least, some pop tunes from the likes of Robin and Barry Gibb and Lennon/McCartney, a stellar programme interpreted with her unique intensity!
