A really breakthrough record from this famous South African group – and one that marks a key shift in their instrumentation, and a style that's a lot more jazz-based than before!

The Lucky here is guitarist Lucky Ranku – whose long, snakey lines on the guitar resonate with some slight psychedelic tones – maybe a bit like Gabor Szabo, but more laidback, and given a very down to earth style here – alongside light instrumentation from the rest of the group, which includes flute and soprano sax from Abbey Cindi, organ from Andre Mfundi, drums from Dick Khoza, and malombo drums from Julian Bahula. The whole thing is fantastic – laidback, lightly trippy, and very different than most other South African records from the time.
