Well, what can you say about such a release? Anything you imagine, or assume, when you hear the magic words (Bill Evans, studio recording, unreleased, MPS studio, Eddie Gomez, Jack DeJohnette, 1968, Zev Feldman) will not fall short of your expectations…. In fact your expectations will be surpassed this time!

Musically speaking is just beautiful music. Bill Evans had all you need to make outstanding jazz music. He had a gorgeous sound, the expressiveness, the harmonics, the taste… he had it all. Besides the music though, this album is really a landmark. There’s a lot of Bill Evans live concerts out there but to find a studio session, unreleased, is nothing short than incredible.

This recording was made by Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer on the MPS studio in the Black Forrest just 5 days after their tour the force show at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1968, recorded and edited for Verve Records. This Verve album was, to date, the only recorded music by this exact trio and with which, the following year won a Grammy Award.
