Named one of Rolling Stone magazine’s Greatest Songs Of All Time, Sam Cooke’s iconic civil rights anthem “A Change Is Gonna Come” is celebrating its diamond anniversary in 2024. “A Change Is Gonna Come” was recorded in January 1964 and was included on Cooke’s 1964 studio album Ain’t That Good News. Its single release didn’t come until two weeks after Cooke’s death in December 1964, when it was released as the B-Side to the Billboard Top 10 single “Shake.” To celebrate 60 years of this influential song, a limited edition 7” single on White Iridescent vinyl, featuring original mono single mixes of both “A Change Is Gonna Come” and “Shake”
