This album is a unique article in that it clearly shon John Mayall´s musical progression over a period of five years; it is also a collection of past single releases and in just 11 selections the changing patterns of the band musicians are brightly outlined and highlight the work of Jack Bruce, Eric Clapton, Roger Dean, Aynsley Dunbar, Mick Fleetwood, Peter Green, Keef Hartley, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Jonh McVie, Mick Taylor, some of whom incidentally have not been  featured on album before.
