This release presents the complete LP Countdown –Time in Outer Space (Columbia CL1775/ CS 8575) by the classic Dave Brubeck Quartet with Paul Desmond, Gene Wright and Joe Morello, recorded during a number of sessions from May to December 1961. Also contained here is the only known alternate take from the sessions, which originally appeared on a long out of print LP compilation and is presented here on CD for the first time ever, as well as an extremely rare live performance by the same group taped in July of that year.
