The great Ray Conniff (1916-2002) popularized wordless vocal choruses and light orchestral accompaniment on a mix of popular standards and contemporary hits of the 1960s. In the course of his extended career, he had 12 Top Ten LPs and sold well over 50 million albums, which cemented his status as one of the top album sellers of all time.
Our collection presents 14 of Conniff’s best albums from his heyday, beginning in 1955, when he recorded his debut album for Columbia, ‘S Wonderful, to 1962, including the first of his stupendous collaborative LPs with trumpeter Billy Butterfield.
