This edition contains Mahalia Jackson’s complete 1961 LP "Everytime I Feel the Spirit" (Columbia CS 8443), which appears here on CD for the first time ever and contains an amazing nine-minute reading of “The Love of God”. Two other long unavailable albums by Mahalia have also been added here in their entireties: "Bless This House" (Columbia CL899), which was recorded in 1956 and counts among its highlights a fantastic medley of “Summertime” and “Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child”, and The Power and the Glory (Columbia CL 1473), recorded in 1960, which presents the singer backed by the famous Percy Faith orchestra.
