This release presents the complete soundtrack from the classic 1959 movie "Some Like It Hot", a brilliant comedy directed by Billy Wilder and starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. The film is about two musicians who dress in drag in order to escape from mafia gangsters whom they witnessed commit the Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre.

The film was produced in black and white, even though color films were increasing in popularity. Nevertheless, it instantly became a cult movie. It won three Academy Awards: Best Costume Design in Black-and-White, Best Actor in a Leading Role (Jack Lemmon), and Best Director.

As a bonus to the original soundtrack, we have added a vocal version of “Some Like It Hot” by Marilyn Monroe, which was first issued as a single, as well as four extra songs from the film also issued as singles and featuring Jack Lemmon and the Society Syncopators.

The set is closed set with the complete LP "Marilyn" (20th Century Fox FXG 5000), released in 1962 and presenting a selection of songs showcasing Marilyn Monroe as a singer performing songs from the films "There’s No Business Like Show Business" (1954), "River of No Return (1954)", and "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" (1953).
