2-LP ON 1 CD Plus 1 BONUS TRACK
This set includes all of the existing collaborative quartet recordings made by Sonny Rollins and the great drummer Philly Joe Jones. They consist of the complete albums "Tenor Madness" (Prestige 7047), on which John Coltrane expanded the group to a quintet on the title track, and "Newk’s Time" (Blue Note BST-84001).
Rollins and Jones would only record together on one other occasion, a 1953 Miles Davis session that reunited Sonny with Charlie Parker (this time playing on tenor). “Compulsion”, a spirited tune from that date, has been added here as a bonus.
