This quintessential collector’s edition includes two of his lesser known albums, originally released by the Crown label at the onset of King’s career. B.B. King Sings Spirituals (1959) contains ten songs that are on the gospel side of B.B.’s repertoire. Even though the album is entirely devoted to spirituals, it didn’t really sound that different from his finest blues material. The second LP presented here, the long unavailable Twist with B.B. King (1962), is one of King’s most difficult to find albums. Both splendid titles have been remastered and packaged together on this very special release, which also features 7 bonus tracks from the same period.
