This release presents Lou Rawls’ magnificent second album, Black and Blue (Capitol Records ST 1824) in its entirety. It showcases the singer performing a collection of well-known standards backed with dynamic arrangements by Onzy Matthews. Fifteen pop songs recorded by Rawls between 1959 and 1962, originally issued on singles, have been added here as a bonus.
