Octopus, The

Fourteen freely improvised pieces by the quartet of cellists, three of them being Germans and one French (Nathan Bontrager / Elisabeth Coudoux / Nora Krahl / Hugues Vincent). Breathtaking versatility and extraordinary technique allow them to find combinations of sound that have never been heard before. All four are highly educated musicians with great ability to turn their improvisations into structured pieces which sound as if they have been meticuolously rehearsed.
