2-CD SET

INCLUDES 2 COMPLETE ALBUMS Plus 14 BONUS TRACKS

This release compiles, for the first time ever, all of the 1954-62 studio recordings featuring Peggy Lee backed by formations led by the great Benny Carter, or singing Carter’s arrangements. In addition, this set contains a wonderful 1958 all-star small group session on which Lee is backed by Carter on alto sax along with such masters as Jack Sheldon, Pete Candoli, Frank Rosolino, Jimmy Rowles, and Barney Kessel.

Among the many rare tracks originally issued as singles, this set presents the complete contents of the original LPs "I Like Men!" (Capitol Records ST 1131) and "Sugar ‘N’ Spice" (Capitol Records ST1772). While CD 1  concentrates on sides conducted or arranged by Benny Carter, CD 2 is focused on those tunes which feature him as a performer backing Lee.

In addition, all of the Peggy Lee-Benny Carter studio collaborations prior to 1954, as well as six hard to find
1954 Peggy Lee singles with various bands have been added as a bonus.
