2-LP SET / GATEFOLD EDITION

INCLUDES 1 BONUS TRACK

This album features jazz luminaries Freddie Hubbard, Eric Dolphy, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers and Roy Haynes, and contains the tune “Stolen Moments,” now considered a standard. In fact, it had already been recorded by Nelson the previous year as “The Stolen Moment” on an album by the Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis big band titled "Trane Whistle". Curiously, this early version (added here as a bonus track at the end of the Stereo version) also features Eric Dolphy and Roy Haynes, as well as George Barrow, who plays tenor sax and flute instead of baritone sax.

PERSONNEL ON BOTH LPs:

OLIVER NELSON, alto & tenor sax
ERIC DOLPHY, alto sax & flute
FREDDIE HUBBARD, trumpet (out on B3)
GEORGE BARROW, baritone sax (out on B3)
BILL EVANS, piano
PAUL CHAMBERS, bass
ROY HAYNES, drums

Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, February 23, 1961.
