This edition compiles The Everly Brothers’ two finest releases, consisting of their thrilling debut album for the Cadence label, The Everly Brothers (1957), and their first album for Warner Bros., It’s Everly Time! (1960). Both contain the cream of the crop from the Everlys’ hitmaking stretch during their most inspired years. In addition, 8 bonus tracks from the same period.
There are a lot of people who declare that proper country rock didn’t really see the light of day until the appearance of The Everlys’ debut album. The two smash hits “Bye Bye Love” and “Wake Up Little Susie” make a good case for this argument.
