Presented here in its entirety is the classic album Clifford Brown With Strings (EmArcy MG 36005), one of the most lyrical albums in the trumpeter’s career and his only excursion in the jazz horn-plusstring orchestra format, which had already been explored by Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, among others. Seven wonderful ballads featuring Brownie, taken from different 1953 sessions in New York and in Paris, have been added as a bonus.
