This quintessential reissue contains his thrilling debut album for the Sun Record Company, With His Hot and Blue Guitar (1957). This masterpiece has been remastered and packaged in this very special collector’s edition, which also includes 2 bonus tracks from the same period. All of Cash’s famous tunes are here, including “Folsom Prison Blues”, “I Walk The Line,” and “Cry, Cry, Cry.”
This album could be the poster child for why music doesn’t have to be complicated to be effective. There’s a disarming, straightforward, transparent authenticity to it that immediately wins you over. Combined with the production, it seems to transport the listener to another time and place – right into Sun studios with Cash and his musicians in 1957.
