Experimental jazz giant Pharaoh Sanders made an indelible impact with his unorthodox approach to the tenor sax. After passing through Sun Ra's Arkestra, his popularity soared in John Coltrane's band, which he joined in 1965 (the same year, ESP Disc issued a self-titled debut). Underground jazz label India Navigation released another set called Pharaoh in 1977, with the laid-back epic, "Harvest Time," featuring Pharaoh's wife Bedria on harmonium, bassist Steve Neil, guitarist Tsiji Munoz and keyboardist Jiggs Case; on side two, percussionist Lawrence Killian and drummer Greg Bandy drive the rhythm as Sanders sings
