A lost chapter of the essential Company series of improvised recordings from the late 70s – music that was recorded by the BBC in 1981, and which continues the fantastic meeting of British and European players that made those earlier records so great! If anything, there may be even more creative intensity taking place here – a further move away from any jazz roots, even though the style is certainly done in a free jazz spirit – but with qualities that unlock sonic possibilities in the instruments that might not have been expected a decade before! Players include Derek Bailey on guitar, Tristan Honsinger on cello, Toshinori Kondo on trumpet, David Toop on flute and small instruments, Georgie Born on cello, Lindsay Cooper on bassoon, Radu Malfatti on trombone, and Jamie Muir on percussion. As with other Company records, the lineup shifts from track to track – and titles include "Come On & Hear", "Trackle", "Cackle", "Pass", "Trio", "Quartet", and "Heptarchy".
