1957 instrumental studio session released on Atlantic Records. Ray Charles was not yet a household name and still recording in the R&B and jazz idioms. This is an intriguing encounter with MJQ vibraphone player Milt Jackson, who also brought along and electric guitar to the date and played piano on one track. In addition to some fine piano work, Ray Charles is revealed as no slouch on the alto sax.

  • Ray Charles - piano, alto sax
  • Milt Jackson - vibraharp, piano, guitar
  • Billy Mitchell - tenor sax
  • Skeeter Best - guitar
  • Oscar Pettiford - bass
  • Connie Kay - drums
