The Kyoto Connection

Released on Isle Of Jura sub-label Temples Of Jura is a magisterial new album from The Kyoto Connection. The project’s leader, Argentinian composer Facundo Arena, was sent a series of field recordings from Kyoto by Japanese artist Masafumi Komatsu. Inspired by minimalist music and the Japanese style Kankyo Ongaku (a kind of ambient music informed by Western and European styles) he manipulated those sounds into The Flower, The Bird And The Mountain.
