Fred Frith describes the Swiss pianist Katharina Weber as a piano icon. The classically trained pianist and composer moves in a musical world where boundaries no longer exist and new music and improvisation merge. The musical framework of her new solo album is formed by two piano pieces dedicated by György Kurtág to his wife Márta, and at the center is Kurtág's composition "... a hike with Robert Walser"

The many years of exchange with Márta and György Kurtág have left intense traces in Katharina Weber's work - as a performer, as an improviser and as a composer.
