Jef Gilson

Excellent session of out material, recorded by French keyboardist Jef Gilson, along with a group led by alto player Philippe Mate. Gilson plays the Ondioline here, which has a nice spooky electric sound, and he jams furiously on 2 long tracks, running a side of the record apeice – "L'Oeil" and "Vision". The backing is slightly modal, and the session swings in and out over the course of the two tracks.
