First released in 1972 on the tiny Mushroom label, ‘Toverbal Sweet’ was a meeting between English saxophonist Lol Coxhill and the Dutch duo of drummer Pierre Curbois and keyboardist Jasper Van’t Hof. It was only Coxhill’s second album, yet it perfectly exemplifies his riotous improvisational style, solidly underpinned by his rhythm section’s more orthodox style.
