This release presents two complete amazing albums by the Barry Harris Trio, Preminado (Riverside RLPS9354) and At the Jazz Workshop (Riverside RSP1177). While the former LP features Harris with Joe Benjamin on bass, and Elvin Jones on drums (these were Harris’ only trio recordings with the drummer), the latter showcases the pianist with Sam Jones on bass, and Louis Hayes on drums.
