Pianist Tete Montoliu performs familiar standards from vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson’s Little B’s Poem and his own Don’t Smoke Any More as virtuosic yet thoughtful and relaxed solo interpretations. One of the underrated greats (due to his residing in his native Spain), Montoliu recorded fairly frequently throughout his career in Europe and was quite consistent. This album gives one a fine example of his talented playing.
