TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

RLR Records releases contain sessions culled from rare and unissued non-professional recordings and so technical quality may not quite be up to today's recording standards. However, because of their historical value and the importance of the musicians involved, every effort has been made to improve the sound quality using modern technology.

This amazing and rarely heard jam session was only previously issued in worst sound quality on a long out of print Italian album. It features Miles jamming at Birdland surrounded by some of the greatest bebop all stars, like Fats Navarro (who would die a week later), J.J. Johnson, Tadd Dameron and Art Blakey. It contains an amazing quartet version of “Embraceable You” by Miles and the rhythm section, and the trumpeter's only existing reading of Thelonious Monk's “Eronel”.
