This release presents the Modern Jazz Quartet’s classic original albums The Comedy (Atlantic SD1390) and Lonely Woman (United Artists UAL4063), in their entirety. While both LPs feature the classic formation of Milt Jackson on vibes, John Lewis on piano, Percy Heath on bass, and Connie Kay on drums, the former adds singer Diahann Carroll on the tune “La Cantatrice”.
