This release presents the seminal Ornette Coleman album Change of the Century (Atlantic SD1327) in its entirety, featuring the wonderful piano-less quartet with Don Cherry, Charlie Haden and Billy Higgins. Two tracks recorded the same day that complete the session have been added to our edition, as well as rarelive versions of three of the titles from the date, taped the previous year at the Hillcrest Club by the same group with the addition of Paul Bley on piano.
