This release presents te complete original 1962 LP Bossa Nova Bacchanal (Blue Note BST-84119), which marked Charlie Rouse’s last LP as a leader for nearly a decade (he would then work almost exclusively as a regular member of the Thelonious Monk Quartet and wouldn’t issue a new album under his own name until 1974). As a bonus, Rouse’s complete 1960 LP Yeah! (Epic BA- 17012), which appears here for the first time ever with the only known alternate take from the sessions.
