This relesase contains the complete contents of the three original LPs released by the trio of Hampton Hawes on piano, Red Mitchell on bass, and Chuck Thompson on drums. Those albums were Hampton Hawes Trio (Contemporary C3505), This Is Hampton Hawes–The Trio Vol. 2 (Contemporary C3515), and Everybody Likes Hampton Hawes (Contemporary C3523). Six bonus tracks have been added presenting further tracks by the same and similar Hampton Hawes trios from the same period.
