This WaxTime LP release includes Lightnin’ Slim’s fi nest album, and one of swamp blues’ most iconic treasures, the masterpiece Rooster Blues. It was released in 1960 by the legendary Excello label, and produced by Jay Miller. Long unavailable on vinyl, the original LP edition is a very coveted item among collectors today, for which substantial amounts of money are paid. If you want a taste of the music played in southern juke joints in the 1950s and early 1960s, this is a great place to start.

In addition to the original masterpiece, this WaxTime collector’s edition also includes 2 bonus tracks from the same period: the catchy “I’m a Rollin’ Stone,” and the great “Love Me Mama”. This set constitutes the foundation of Lightnin’ Slim’s incomparable musical legacy.
