Abdullah Ibrahim, aka Dollar Brand, is a South African jazz pianist whose revered recordings incorporate both modal jazz and the unique rhythms of his homeland. This album from 1977 sees him in a terrific quintet setting, engaging in loose and spiritual jazz of a very high order. Fantastic.
