Elemental Music proudly presents the ultimate remastered edition of the seminal bluesy funk-rock album Get Ready, from the legendary Detroit band Rare Earth. Originally released on September 30, 1969, Get Ready is their second studio album and the first released through Motown Records. The album was first released on Rare Earth Records, a Motown sub-label created for this special release in an attempt to cater to white artists and promote them into the black market. However, Rare Earth was the one and only successful white band to be signed with Motown, and they remained in the Detroit label from 1968 to 1978. Rare Earth was playing bars for several years prior to signing with Motown, and Motown music at that time was very strong on the radio. Rare Earth was playing a lot of Motown songs in clubs. Thus the band’s roots developed from R&B music. Most people in the beginning thought Rare Earth to be black.
