Best known for their hit songs “Lollipop,” “Mr. Sandman,” “Never on Sunday” and the doo wop classic “Eddie My Love,” The Chordettes were a fabulous vocal quartet and one of the more popular white girl groups of the ‘50s. They covered rock and R&B songs in the mid-’50s for the pop market, as early rock & roll began its successful threat to take over the mainstream audience.

This essential CD compiles 30 of the finest songs the group issued mostly for the Cadence label during their peak, between 1952 and 1962. The set includes uptempo tunes, mid-tempo numbers and ballads. It also contains some lesser-heard songs that are just as enjoyable as the hits. These recordings are the cream of the crop of The Chordettes’ legendary musical legacy.
