The great Dion DiMucci had a compelling voice which was adaptable to sweet harmonizing and rougher and readier vocal rock & roll. His unique singing and highly personal style can be heard to great effect performing a surprising array of musical genres – mainly doo wop, rock & roll, and R&B. Dion made a name for himself both as a solo artist and as the leader of the vocal group The Belmonts (as well as the leader of the unheralded band The Del-Satins). This Hoodoo Records release contains two of Dion’s finest and most iconic long plays: his classic second solo album, Runaround Sue (1961), and his first LP with The Belmonts, Presenting… (1959). Both masterpieces have been packaged together in this collector’s edition, which also includes 6 bonus tracks from the same period.
