Bo Diddley’s first LPs are among the greatest in the history of rock & roll. This quintessential Vinyl edition includes the long unavailable album, Bo Diddley, originally released by Chess’ subsidiary Checker Records in August 1962. It is probably Diddley’s most obscure LP, but also one of his finest. Bo Diddley marked his second eponymous album in four years (the first one was his debut LP from 1958).

This particular long-play marked his breakthrough in the UK, hitting #11 in Britain as opposed to its rather lower chart placement of #117 in the US. This success was due to the fact that Bo was touring the UK at the time of the album’s release, part of a package tour that included The Everly Brothers, Little Richard and The Rolling Stones.
