Long unavailable on vinyl, this quintessential collector’s edition includes one of Domino’s finest LPs, The Fabulous “Mr. D,” originally released by the Imperial label in 1958. The album consists of singles dating back as far as 1952, and provides a glimpse of Fats Domino mixing early rock & roll into his New Orleans R&B gumbo. In addition, this 180-gram vinyl release contains 2 bonus tracks from the same period. This material is the cream of the crop from Domino’s hit-making stretch for Imperial records during his most inspired years.

These great recordings – most of them co-written, produced and arranged by the legendary Dave Bartholomew – feature a virtual who’s who of fabulous musicians from the Crescent City scene, including Lee Allen, Allen Toussaint, Frank Fields, and Cornelius Coleman, among others.
