Legendary labels Decca Records and Blue Note have joined forces to release Blue Note Re:imagined; a brand new collection of classic Blue Note tracks reworked and newly recorded by a selection of the UK scene’s most exciting young talents today including Jorja Smith, Ezra Collective, Shabaka Hutchings, Nubya Garcia, Mr Jukes, Steam Down, Skinny Pelembe, Emma-Jean Thackray, Poppy Ajudha, Jordan Rakei, Fieh, Ishmael Ensemble, Blue Lab Beats, Melt Yourself Down, Yazmin Lacey, and Alfa Mist. The collection includes interpretations of tracks by Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Bobby Hutcherson, Joe Henderson, Donald Byrd, Eddie Henderson, McCoy Tyner, Andrew Hill, and St Germain.

Blue Note Re:imagined will be available on Limited Blue colored 2LP, Standard 2LP Gatefold and Double CD Digipack, as well as on a 7 inch series featuring some of the cuts from the compilation. Representing a bridge between the ground-breaking label’s past and future, the first of the 7 inch series features Brit Award-winning Jorja Smith, whose version of St Germain’s Rose Rouge is featured on the A side of this single vinyl.

Alongside Smith’s reworking of Rose Rouge is Ezra Collective’s version of Wayne Shorter’s Footprints, on side B.
